Michael Lin
Michael Lin (B.A. Biochemistry from U.C. Berkeley; J.D. from Boston University; Ohio Bar; USPTO Bar) was such a terrible bench chemist that he had to become a lawyer. Beginning in 1997, Michael worked at Procter & Gamble Japan, rising to head P&G’s Asia Fabric and Home Care Patent Group. Michael handled contentious and non-contentious issues, licensing matters, IP negotiations, and IP matters in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures in geographies ranging from India to Japan and Korea to Australia.
In 2007, Michael moved to P&G Beijing as the Group Manager, establishing the Patent and Legal Group and growing it to 14 people. Eventually Michael managed the Asia patent matters for P&G’s Oral Care, Pet Care, Snacks & Beverages, and Fabric and Home Care business units. These responsibilities covered P&G’s Asian business units having a total annual sales of over $3 billion USD.

Laixi Wang
Laixi Wang, the Founder and General Manager for EasyHogs Inc. He earned his degree in reproduction science from the College of Animal Science of China Agricultural University in 1991. He then worked with Beijing Pig Breeding Center during 1991 and 2001 for over 10 years, working in roles as stockman, technician and farm manager with growing responsibilities. In 2001, he created EasyHogs Inc, being a distributor for Intervet, Schering-Plough, Bayer and Boehringer-Ingelheim. At the same time, he created www.zhue.com.cn, and zhue.cn under the umbrella of EasyHogs inc. In 2013, he spinned off the distribution business and focused on Pig Inputs E-Commerce.
Mr. Wang is a committee member of China Animal Husbandry Association. He is the pioneer in E-Commerce in Agriculture inputs, and had years of experience of working in this sector.

A formulations chemist with extensive experience in animal health, Doug co-founded Argenta in 2006. He has led Argenta from start-up phase through periods of rapid growth, to where it is today. As managing director, he continues to play a hands-on role in the business. Calvin Smith
Calvin is a New Zealand based businessman with a background in entrepreneurship and investment banking. Calvin is currently a Director of Pet Nutrition New Zealand Limited Partnership (PNNZ). This company was founded in October 2015 to provide exclusive pet nutrition solutions to retailers and brand owners globally. The focus is on providing New Zealand Proteins and Omega 3’s in a high meat or fish based diet using innovative production techniques.
PNNZ has developed its own brand of premium pet food called Kiwi Kitchens. Kiwi Kitchens is sold in the USA and across Asia. PNNZ has developed an innovative channel strategy for Kiwi Kitchens especially in the very competitive market of the USA. Kiwi Kitchens offers a broad range of products including air dried, freeze dried and canned foods. This strategy, combined with the high quality products is behind the success of the brand.
Calvin was previously CEO of K9 Natural Food. Under Calvin’s leadership, K9 Natural grew from a start-up to a medium sized business. The company was recognised in 2011 as NZ’s fifth fastest growing business, and is now exporting from to 19 countries throughout Asia, USA, Canada, Europe and Australasia.
Calvin spent 16 years in investment banking working in New Zealand, Singapore, Tokyo and London. This culminated in his becoming Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston in London, with primary responsibility for the global currency derivatives trading. Upon returning to New Zealand in 2007, he has been actively involved with several start-up businesses.
