A range of innovative AI companies are now providing services that tackle barriers to trial participation for underserved patients. This session would draw on case studies of AI application as a mechanism to identify, recruit and/or retain diverse patient populations whilst discussing flaws of AI’s ability to undo structural barriers, preferably sharing a multi-faceted approach to community engagement through AI and boots on the ground.

Community Spotlight: Advancing Gender Identity and Sexuality Reporting in Clinical Research

LGBTQIA+ representation in clinical trials has historically been poorly described in clinical research. This session describes how the industry can scientifically pinpoint disparities in SGM health outcomes and ensure protocols are designed to report data inclusively. Sharing how gender and sex can be effectively reported in clinical trials and how sexuality reporting leads to improved medical understanding and retention.

This discussion reviews landscaping of clinical research for disease prevalence, engaged population demographics, trial sites, and culturally competent healthcare centers. This aims to share best practice during the site selection process for DEI strategy.
