    She began her career as an Air Traffic Controller for the RSAF.     She is an Italian-American professional that brings over 12 years of expertise in research and development in international trade both in the non-profit & private sector. Before joining UNDP, Sara covered regional and national managerial roles of commercial development in private multinationals in USA, Europe and South-East Asia. She also led the trade office of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce of Southeast USA where she developed many projects from inception to execution and contributed to fostering trade and development cooperation.

    She has a Master’s degree in Law from Macerata University, Italy with final thesis on Comparative Law completed at the University of Miami School of Law, Florida.

    Brett Chabot

    Mr. Chabot was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Ripon College in 1997, and then earned a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2004. Mr. Chabot earned his license as a Certified Public Accountant in 2004. Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Chabot worked as a Managing Accountant for Deloitte & Touche from 2004 through 2009.

    Mr. Chabot entered on duty as a Special Agent (SA) of the FBI on October 25, 2009.  From 2009 - 2017, Mr. Chabot was assigned to the Miami Division, where he worked Securities Fraud, Corporate Fraud, Money Laundering, Public Corruption, Bank Robberies, and Cyber investigations focusing on computer intrusions and fraud. Mr. Chabot earned several accolades from the Department of Justice for his work on fraud and money laundering investigations, including Law Enforcement Officer of the Year awards in 2013, 2014 and 2017.

    While in Miami, Mr. Chabot lead the FBI’s Evidence Response Team for several years. In this role, Mr. Chabot lead units on hundreds of different search warrants on all types of investigations, including counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, drug trafficking, bank robberies, hate crimes, and mass casualty incidents. Mr. Chabot has responded to numerous mass shootings and large crime scenes to collect and preserve evidence for later admission during court proceedings. Due to years of service in this response role, Mr. Chabot has testified in criminal court proceedings over 50 times.

    In 2017, Mr. Chabot was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) at FBI Headquarters, within the International Operations Division, where he had responsibility over FBI Legal Attaché Offices in Asia. In 2018, SSA Chabot served as Unit Chief of International Operations Division’s Asia Unit, leading a team of 50 personnel assigned to various locations in Asia. Mr. Chabot has deployed on numerous international assignments at U.S. embassies in Manila, Seoul, Beijing and Bangkok. Mr. Chabot received the FBI Director’s Award for his role in the response to the Easter Sunday bombings in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2019.

    Mr. Chabot reported to Singapore as Assistant Legal Attaché in July 2020.  He is married and has two children.

    Sungyong Kang, an S.J.D. (Ph.D. in Law equivalent) and Esq., is working as a Criminal Intelligence Officer at the INTERPOL Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Center where his main duty is to coordinate the international cooperation to trace, freeze/seize and confiscate the criminal proceeds. Prior to joining the INTERPOL, he worked as a researcher and an adjunct professor at the Korea National Police University where he focused on the financial crime exploiting new technologies, such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Metaverse, etc. Before then, he was an investigator of Korea National Police Agency, and he successfully investigated diverse high profile financial crimes leading his team to be awarded as the best investigation team in Seoul.

    Sungyong Kang is an author of many legal researches published by renowned international journals including International & Comparative Law Quarterly (Cambridge University Press), Michigan Journal of International Law (forthcoming, Michigan Law School), etc. He is also a frequent speaker at the conferences organized by respected international entities including FATF, UNTOC, Basel Institute on Governance, EUROPOL and INTERPOL, etc.
