Why Attend
Clean Beauty Connect is the leading network driving innovation in beauty and personal care towards a cleaner, more transparent industry. This summit provides the platform for brands to collaborate with innovation leaders, uniting the industry in its sustainability mission.
The market value of clean beauty is expected to grow by $20 billion dollars before 2027 and the onset of the pandemic has made health and safety paramount, with clean formulations becoming table stakes.
However, safety of ingredients is no longer enough for the conscious consumer with 60% looking to buy from socially and environmentally responsible companies. In such a fast-evolving industry, it is imperative brands meet those demands to gain the competitive edge.
We are the established platform bringing together brands and innovation leaders to share their expertise and allow you to meet your sustainability goals. Join this event to gain the knowledge and connections to ensure your company’s next step in becoming clean in 2021.
2021 SPEAKERS
Mia Davis
Mia has been a leader in the movement for safer, more sustainable materials and processes since 2006. She has pushed large companies using toxic chemicals to reformulate, and helped to establish the "safer" and "clean" beauty movement by creating and implementing the most meaningful standards in the industry (the Credo Clean Standard, Beautycounter’s Ingredient Selection Process, and more). Recently, Mia researched and authored Credo's Sustainable Packaging Guidelines, which earned Credo a top rank in Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in the World. She is also co-leading a pre-competitive collaboration to rethink packaging in beauty.
Jeannie Jarnot
Longtime spa director and healthy beauty expert, Jeannie Jarnot, is on a mission to deliver beauty you can trust, one Hero product at a time. After uncovering the prevalence of toxic ingredients in the spa industry – and how they might have contributed to her own infertility – Jeannie began her quest to make healthy beauty the rule rather than the exception. The complexity of navigating cosmetic ingredients only fueled her passion to make it simple to discover safe, effective and luxurious skincare. Today, as the founder of Beauty Heroes, Jeannie brings a lifetime of beauty, wellness and ritual to her company and her customers, delivering healthy beauty through the thrill of Discovery.
By working only with brands who have an unwavering commitment to ethical sourcing, purity and quality, she has become the industry standard bearer on ingredient integrity, establishing her company as the most trusted source for healthy beauty. Jeannie works directly with brand founders to hand select, test and approve each product featured by Beauty Heroes. Yet, Jeannie’s curation process is more than skin deep; she is passionate about championing progressive brands that make sustainability and waste reduction central to their business model.
Feeling called to have a deeper conversation about beauty and wellness for people and the planet, Jeannie pioneered Project Blue Beauty, a platform to connect conscious consumers with beauty brands that are going from ‘green’ to ‘blue’, shining a spotlight on brands that are not just minimizing their environmental footprint, but actually leaving the planet better than they found it. Beauty Heroes is walking the talk and embracing Blue Beauty through its philanthropic partnership with One Tree Planted. This collaboration was the inspiration behind Beauty Heroes’ first lifestyle products – glass straws and eco-luxurious utensil sets, available in the Beauty Store. Jeannie takes a 360° look at the products she curates for Beauty Heroes, ensuring ethical sourcing, conscious packaging and brand values are carefully considered. Though Project Blue Beauty, Jeannie and her team celebrate initiatives, share best practices and inspire action.

Heather D’Angelo
Carta was founded in 2017 by Heather D’Angelo, a San Francisco-based perfumer, musician (with the band Au Revoir Simone), and ecologist. The dream for Carta originated while she was collecting botanical samples from the Malaysian rainforest as part of her research at Columbia University. After several years of working with plant-based aromatic compounds, she developed an understanding that scent, like music, is a transportative instrument. Both have the arcane power to suspend moments and places in time. The line, named after the Italian word for map, reflects the spirit of linking scent and place.
With Carta, D’Angelo explores the artistry of perfume, influenced by her background in musical composition and scientific inquiry. Rooted in her passion for environmental conservation, D’Angelo’s romance with scents is shaped and driven by a commitment to conscious practices and a desire to share the stories behind Carta’s ingredients.
Elsie Rutterford
BYBI Co-Founders Dominika Minarovic and Elsie Rutterford equally emblemize ethics and innovation.
In 2015, these two London-based entrepreneurs bonded over a shared passion for clean beauty and
lifestyle and launched the trend-setting blog, podcast, book, and Instagram account, Clean Beauty Insiders. Building on this partnership, they co-founded BYBI in 2017. With a major push into the United States marketplace in 2020, Elsie and Dominika set a worldwide precedent for clean and sustainable beauty.

Anna Brightman
When Anna discovered that more than 500,000 tonnes of coffee grounds that are consumed each year in the UK alone are sent to landfill, she decided to start collecting coffee from cafes across London and transforming them into skincare products. Since launching four years ago UpCircle has saved over 275 tonnes of coffee. Based on their current rates of growth it is estimated that this will rise to 1000 tonnes in the next 5 years. The brand also rescues and reuses ingredients from the argan, tea, juice, date, olive and wood industries.

Her vision is to rethink personal care formulation considering the entire product life cycle, safety and sustainability to create clean, conscious, concentrated solutions.
