Darren Adams
Darren Adams, Global Director for Digital Propositions at Unilever, leads the development and long-term evolution of the digital propositions team within Unilever. The team is focused on the digital transformation of the organization as it relates to consumer facing propositions, across the three divisions, including Home Care, Beauty and Personal Care and Food and Refreshment. His global team based in China, India, Netherlands and the US are leading the way in building new digital services and digital business models and the inherent assets and technologies required to deliver this.
Darren joined Unilever in 2021, and prior to Unilever spent several years with Philips in the Netherlands and US as the Managing Director – Strategy, Marketing and Operations, within the Philips Ventures team. He was responsible for the creation of the Philips HealthWorks group and its inherent acceleration and investment programs, which established a large portfolio of start-ups and solutions as well as successful collaborations across the business.
Prior to Philips Darren has held numerous Leadership roles across the globe in organizations that have spanned Online and eCommerce, Mobile Technology, Telecommunications, Banking and Insurance and Health. In these various roles Darren’s focus has been on the creation of new businesses, market expansion and digital transformation. A prime example was the creation of an ecommerce mobile telecommunications services business that generated $250M in revenue after two years.
Additionally, Darren has been the founder of several startups, predominantly SaaS based businesses which have had successful exits. As an investor and executive team member he has seen several other startups through multiple rounds of funding.
Darren holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Economics and Marketing) from Deakin University and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.
Darren is currently based in Boston where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

Agustina Sartori
Agustina Sartori is the Sr.Director Innovation Experiences & Innovation Fund at Ulta Beauty and the founder & CEO at GlamST, an augmented reality (AR) technology company. The digital innovation team at Ulta Beauty works to create best-in-class guest experiences that underscore the beauty retailers’ leadership and deep understanding of consumer habits and desires. Sartori joined Ulta Beauty after the company’s 2018 acquisition of GlamST to help develop AR experiences that combine augmented reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies such as GLAMLab. A San Francisco resident, Agustina is originally from Uruguay where she received her Telematics Engineering degree from the University of Montevideo. Throughout her career, she has successfully raised significant capital as an Endeavor entrepreneur, has worked with 500 Startups, Plug and Play, ANII and Startup Chile and with world-class brands such as Ulta Beauty, L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, Dufry, Clarins and Neiman Marcus, among others.

Roxanne Ong
Roxanne Ong is the Head of Beauty Tech, Strategy & Education of the Digital Transformation Office at the Shiseido Group. Roxanne is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of innovations and technology that enables Consumer Engagement in the digital age. As Head of Education, Roxanne is also responsible for driving change in People and Organization as part of Shiseido’s Digital Transformation journey.
A 20-plus year veteran of the digital space, Roxanne’s diverse professional experiences spans global corporations, tech start-ups and global consultancies across the beauty, education, travel, automotive and retail categories. She has held management positions across the CRM, Loyalty, Commerce, Branding disciplines at Estee Lauder Corporation, W Hotels, Ogilvy One, Hailo (now MyTaxi) and General Assembly.

Juliana Durack

Allie has been working on marketing strategy for beauty advertisers at Meta for 2.5 years. Prior to Meta she was an Industrial Engineer for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, consulting with various business leaders on projects to improve the Guest experience. She has a passion for analytics, data and maximizing efficiency to help businesses grow and achieve their goals. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her fiancé and German Shepard puppy, Truffle.

Dana Lucas
Dana is the Director of Partnerships and Product at the Good Face Project, the industry’s fastest growing AI-powered ingredient transparency and innovation platform for Cosmetics and Personal Care. Dana specializes in translating demonstrated problems into products through human centered design, and by leveraging her background in business development, marketing, and applied design. Dana holds a BS in Marketing from Tulane University and an MPS in Design Management & Communications from Georgetown University.

Barbara Paldus
Canadian-born of Czech parents, raised in both Europe and Canada, fluent in five languages with a Ph.D. from Stanford University (U.S.), Dr. Barbara Paldus considers herself a global citizen. As a scientist, she believes in data and biotechnology. Codex Beauty was conceived from a need to deliver high-efficacy, clinically proven skincare collections that defy the mainstream with plant-based biotech ingredients.
Barb is also an investor, entrepreneur, and inventor has been awarded 40 U.S. patents and numerous prizes in science. She spent two decades leading innovation in spectroscopy, telecommunications, and biotechnology. By 34, she had founded two Silicon Valley companies that, among many breakthroughs, paved the way for carbon cycle/natural gas pipeline monitoring (Picarro), and accessible vaccine/cancer therapeutic manufacturing (Finesse Solutions, acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2017). Today, several COVID-19 vaccines are manufactured in equipment that her company Finesse developed and brought to market.

A problem solver, Chaz has been on all sides of innovation working for Fortune 500 brands, a startup Founder, and VC.
A self professed skincare geek, Chaz founded Revea in 2020 to transform skincare to be truly inclusive, rooted in integrity, and made precisely for you. As the world’s first precision skincare company, Revea uses advanced diagnostics and bioinformatics to cut through the traditional trial and error and deliver custom treatments formulated for your root cause and optimized for your skin physiology.
Most recently, Chaz led External Innovation at the Estee Lauder Companies. Previously, Chaz founded, MomTrusted, to solve a critical problem in early education and care. Prior to that, Chaz invested in early stage companies at CitiVentures after starting his career at Procter & Gamble where he helped create one of P&G’s billion dollar brands.
Chaz resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, daughter, and son. He is a fitness enthusiast and feeds his competitive side with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu while attempting to find balance with an embarrassingly comical version of yoga.

Mimi Ghosh is a client executive in the Technology & Disruptive Commerce Group at JPMorgan Chase. Mimi covers high-growth companies within the consumer and technology sectors. She is responsible for client management and business development. As part of her role, Mimi provides treasury, credit, payment processing, F/X, liquidity and strategic capital structure solutions to clients. Previously, she worked for Morgan Stanley in its Global Capital Markets Division and Raymond James in its Investment Banking Division. She has completed transactions for a combined value of $55bn+.
Mimi received a BA in from Columbia University and currently resides in New York City.

Frank Schwanke
Dr. Frank Schwanke, PhD in Chemistry, has been driving innovation in skin & personal care for more than 21 years. During his career, he developed various NPDs in different categories like Face, Sun, Hair Care and make-up, explored new technologies with external partners and ran a large number of early innovation and prototyping initiatives. Leading the regional R&D innovation hub for the Americas, located in Mexico, gave him a broad perspective on different markets, consumers and technologies. Since 2020, he is heading the topic of personalization at Beiersdorf being the manager of the company’s personalization accelerator, a cross-functional entrepreneurial team, that focuses on offering personalized solutions. Already in 2021, the personalization accelerator created O.W.N, a face care brand that offers truly individualized products.

Sabrina was born and raised in East Africa and moved to Miami, FL with her family when she was eight years old. A graduate of The New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, Sabrina achieved a Bachelor of Science of Finance and Information Systems, with a minor in Mathematics. She is recognized as one of the very few female derivatives traders at NYSE and later, on the founding team for the institutional desk at the now illustrious Citadel hedge fund.In 2017, a debilitating skin allergy led her to launch ClearForMe. With this powerful tool, she hopes to encourage clear beauty education and change how products with ingredient labels are presented to consumers today.

Colin O’Sullivan joined the Deepverge team as Chief Information Officer (CIO) following the acquisition of Rinocloud Ltd. Colin is responsible for creating an information technology strategy targeted at the Deepverge growth opportunities. Danielle Lay

David Caballero-Lima
David received his undergraduate degree in Biology and his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Universidad de Extremadura in Spain. David took postdoctoral research positions at the University of Sheffield and the University of Manchester, with both roles focusing on studying human/pathogen interaction via tissue models and obtaining a greater understanding in the regulation of the cell cycle and vesicle transportation during morphological changes. In addition he was involved in the development of point-of-care diagnostic devices for diseases such as fungal and bacterial keratitis and novel antifungal discovery.
David was initially Services Manager at Labskin, responsible for all microbiology work and service projects, bringing his 18 years’ experience working with microbiology and host-pathogen interactions.
As Head of R&D, David now leads the research department, focusing on the development of new methods for studying the native skin microflora, prebiotic, probiotics and antimicrobial effects of ingredients and formulation for pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical studies. He is also the scientific lead for the development of Labskin new consumers service; Skin Trust Club, a new concept of personalised skin care based on the analysis of the skin microbiome. David is a key collaborator on international research bids, as a peer with leading international experts from academia and industry.

Duncan Smith
Heading up Sagentia Innovation’s global Consumer division, Duncan has a wealth of experience with brands in the personal care & beauty, consumer health, beverages and retail sectors in Europe, North America and Asia. He’s worked with Colgate-Palmolive, L’Oréal, Philips, GSK, ABInBev, Hitachi and Ocado amongst many others. With a background in consumer electronics R&D and manufacture, he is particularly focussed on blending physical and digital technologies to enable new consumer experiences that drive growth for brands. Elsa Jungman
Dr. Elsa Jungman has a Ph.D. in Skin Delivery and began her career working in Research and Development for L’Oreal in Paris. In 2015 she moved to San Francisco and has worked with several biotech and skincare companies such as AOBiome. She is an expert for the Clean Beauty Council at Credo Beauty and mentors/consults with local small companies. Today, she is the founder and CEO of ELSI Skin Health, a science-backed and clean skincare startup.

Jay Hack is the VP of Business Intelligence at FemTec Health. With two machine learning patents and over twelve years building intelligent data systems, Jay is an expert in data science, artificial intelligence, and their application in consumer digital products. His operational experience spans from recruiting, fundraising and company building to hands-on application of machine learning research and constructing data systems operating at the scale of fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining FemTec via an acquisition, Jay was the CEO and cofounder of Mira AI, an AI-powered digital beauty shopping platform backed by, among others, Founders Fund, Emily Weiss and Unilever Ventures. Jay previously graduated with a B.S. in computer science (AI concentration) from Stanford, ran a data science consulting firm in college with over $200k revenue, and built applied machine learning systems at Palantir for clients across six countries and five industries. With two machine learning patents and over twelve years building intelligent data systems, Jay is an expert in artificial intelligence and its application in consumer digital products. Kimberly Capone

Marcelo Lu serves as Senior Vice President, Care Chemicals North America at BASF Corporation. He assumed this role in January 2021, overseeing eight manufacturing sites, four laboratories, and a team of over 650 people that serve our customers. In this role, Marcelo leads the strategic and operational performance of the Care Chemicals business that serves customers in the Home Care, Personal Care, Agrochemical Additives and Industrial markets. Key responsibilities include customer relationships, operational excellence and innovation and collaborating with teams globally to meet the needs of the North American market. He is a Steering Committee member for Commercial and Sales PDP Program and the P&G NA Customer Network Executive Sponsor. Sergio Rattner
Sergio founded FitSkin to revolutionize the way beauty products are sold both online + offline. FitSkin combines sophisticated optics, AI, and great UI/UX design to make it easy to buy skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics products.
Sergio launched and successfully exited two prior startups: Autologic (a pre-Google search engine for car buying) and iPorta (an interactive healthcare media platform).
Sergio holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an Honors BASc. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Japanese from the University of Toronto.

Simon Driscoll
Simon Driscoll pivoted from a career in television where he led content personalisation for European streamers Sky TV and Channel 4 to create his own skincare line UXB. UXB specialises in formulating natural skincare targeted to different skin types.

She has led research practices for North American businesses in Retail, Restaurant, Fashion, Travel industries. She joined IPSOS, a top global research company, in 2018 to hold positions in Market Strategy, Innovation and UX.
She is currently leading client relationships across key retailers. In this client officer position, Wendy acts as an advocate for clients and brings the best possible solutions and experts together to solve client business issues.
